About the discussion

Does ‘transportation’ mean more than moving from one place to another? In this discussion, we will explore the worldviews and motivations behind transportation activism. We will look at such topics as fossil fuel depletion, pollution, alternative fuel sources and how they relate to responses developed by engaged individuals at the local level. We will discuss various constructive responses to issues raised by mainstream transportation and how these efforts invoke our social responsibility as participants moving across the social landscape, allowing for a community engagement that just isn’t possible for the commuters stuck on Highway 20.
