Can we say what we're really thinking when it comes to sex?

Date: Wednesday, 5 March 2008

About the discussion

We currently live in a borderline hypocritical culture when it comes to sexuality. On one hand sexually explicit media images bombard our lives, on the other hand sex still is a quasi-taboo subject that stereotypes, provokes judgement and moral panic. Let’s just say it hasn’t found a place as a dinner-table or water-cooler topic of conversation yet. How can we break through this polarized view of sexuality and create safe and open dialogues, with space for the occasional monologue? What does it mean to articulate our sexuality? How can we be safe and true when it comes to depicting our sexuality to others, privately or publicly. How can the sexual nature of our relationships be nurtured as a creative process?
