Conversations are possibly one of the most powerful tools we have to change our reality and understanding of the world. One-on-one, in twos and threes, in a roomful of people – it is often the informal conversations in our lives that help us shift our perspective, learn more and grow. To celebrate six years of memorable (and often surprising) conversations, the University of the Streets Café is turning to the age-old tradition of storytelling. What happens when we meet, listen, speak, and share the stories that make up who we are? Where do our perceptions of the world intersect and our identities collide to create this thing we call community? During this evening of public storytelling we will hear from local storytellers – both new and experienced – and create a common space to share the many stories we all carry.

Host, Lynne Cooper stands out for her very singular story: that of a multilingual Chilean-Trinidadian-Honduran-British immigrant, performing artist, traveler, community activist and theatrical guerrilla. She is the artistic director of Le Trunk Collectif. www.clocloval.com/trunk
