LIVING WELL: What does it take to personally change?
Rockaberry, 3361 Sources Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux
These public conversations require registration. Please RSVP by Monday, April 27th. See below for more information. Organized in collaboration with Advancement and Alumni Relations, the Concordia University Alumni Association and the University of the Streets Café.
We all want to change something about our lives… and within ourselves. Some of us want to pursue our education or lose weight, while others want to build more satisfying relationships or develop a more positive outlook on life. But, how can we effect positive change even after multiple failures? Why does someone, for example, finally succeed and quit smoking after many disappointing attempts? What causes such timely success? During this conversation, we will discuss concepts like motivation and how to overcome resistance to change in order to transform ourselves.
Guest: Isabelle Abdel-Sayed is a passionate advocate of creative expression and self-created contentment and channels these interests as a self-transformation coach. Based on her training in Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching and her ability to ask powerful, thought-provoking questions, Isabelle helps others create meaning and attain fulfillment in their lives, in spite of any barriers, drama or inner monsters that threaten to block them.
Moderator: Elizabeth Hunt coordinates the University of the Streets Café, a public conversation program of the Institute in Community Development, part of the School of Extended Learning at Concordia University. She enjoys that her work allows her to enable community-based learning and to connect people with each other and watch ideas grow. Elizabeth is currently pursuing graduate studies in adult education.
